Two opposing opinions. To be fair, and although it may not seem so, independent on my own current position, I tend to agree wit StigVidar.
The reason for this is that Ricoh did not charge a premium price for what they call the premium kit. On the contrary it is a discounted kit, so I fail to see what was paid for that exclusivity. One could even argue that Ricoh actually paid us to get the kit, not the other way around.
Anyway, I don't care about the leather strap or the "special" box, and I could live with a black grip on a silver body, or an all black body+grip. I do believe Ricoh should honour confirmed pre-orders by delivering at least body+grip+battery at the same premium kit price to those early customers.. . .
opinions can differ
but Ricoh made a promise to those lucky enough to pay extra for a product which all knew was to be " limited " and get one of a limited supply
as it was explained to me when I was worried that all of those kits would be sold to the areas of the world where consumers were able to pre order before those of us in the States could place a pre-order, most likely Ricoh had designated supplies of that " limited " product to specific markets, not whoever placed a pre-order first in time.
I was prepared to have my pre-order not filled
now it would be ok for Ricoh to break its word ?
1,000 black K 3 III with 1,000 black battery grips and extra battery,
1,000 silver K 3 III with 1,000 silver battery grips and extra battery, [ I received written notice that should my silver battery grip need to be replaced, it would not be silver but black ]
2,000 special leather straps
2,000 special boxes
we all knew it going in
change the " rules of the game " now ?
I have no problem if Ricoh sells or even gives a black grip to everyone since I paid for the silver premium kit but some one who bought the black premium kit might
