As a Dutchman in Austria who works online in London, I have no idea...
But I guess underestimating the interest is part of the story, yes. What I don't quite get, but perhaps misunderstood, is: I'd imagine the kits to be shipped to Ricoh EU first, only then to the dealers and Ricoh's direct customers. It seems the dealers were served first.
I do hope they kept a good record - that they don't run out of premium kits all of a sudden...

I just received an encouraging message:

“The release of the order has been delayed further .

It is expected that the order will be shipped by the beginning of next week.”

At least I'm getting one and it may well be Thursday 20 May / Friday 21 May!

If they are sending out parcels this week, they will send a tracking number over email, as soon as the parcel ships; of course, if you ordered via a dealer, it would be sent to them.
And I sure hope they don't locate the dealer here, between Melbourne and Adelaide:

In normal times I wouldn't mind a trip to Australia to go and pick up the camera if I could combine it with a longer trip. But not now with too many quarantine rules etc to be respected.
