K-3 iii status screen question

My new K-3 III no longer shows the status screen on the back LCD when switched on?? What have I done? The manual doesn’t indicate how to switch the status screen on or off…

You should be able to pull it back up by pressing the info button.

I've switched mine off by accident more than once. The first time I was convinced the screen was failing and started figuring out if it was still under warranty and how to get it repaired! Thank goodness someone else in the forum had it happen to them and knew how to right it.

We're a kinda helpful place.

It also does this if you forget to put a SD card in slot 1 close the card slot door. Found out hard way, almost cried.

You'll hear it power on, but the LCD on top PLUS the back will be dead to the world.

I gotta keep that one in mind then. Eventually we'll have a panicked owner asking why.

That's a feature! Keeps you from walking out with a camera without anywhere to put images!

I just removed both my cards and the camera powered on normally and even tripped the shutter. You might better check that out again. What does cause the camera to react as you stated is to leave the card slot door open, then the camera will power on with no screen activity.

Ah yes, door was open, I forgot that detail. I had just unloaded contents. My dumb answer has now been edited.

Okay, panic over! I worked through the C menu and changed some display settings and magically the back LCD (monitor) is displaying information on startup. Of course I didn’t do them one at a time, so no idea what I had selected that turned it off

Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly - this is a wonderful resource!!
