How can I stop my K3iii from bracketing?

Yesterday I assigned the bracketing function to the AE-L button and while I was testing it out I could use the front and rear dials to choose options between Off and 5 shots, and exposure between 0 and 5 EV stops. When I tried it today I can't turn the bracketing off and every time I press the shutter the camera takes several shots. I realise I may have accidentally pressed a wrong button somewhere but I can't work out what I've done or how to fix it.

I need to get it back to a setting where I can select bracketing if I want it, but can also turn it off when I don't need it. Does anyone have any ideas what I've done and how I can fix it please?

Are you sure it is auto-bracketing or have you enabled motor drive mode inadvertently? The latter is easy to do by accidentally pressing the four-way buttons.

Brilliant, thank you!!!! I knew it must have been an operator error.

My K5 Mk I also does this. I assigned the barrel button to bracketing and once engaged, it stays there. Getting out requires hitting the drive menu on the back and go back to single shot. Still, no complaints!
