It would be a pity for this thread to fade into oblivion.

Zeiss Super Ikonta IV, Kodak Tri-X

fibres par Kris Lockyear, on ipernity

It took me a while to find out anything about this sculpture but eventually came across this website which gave some useful information:

"Fibres, a sculpture by local artist Ian Randall, was built in St. Blaise Square in 1997, on the former site of Bradford Forster Square railway station. I’ll stroke my new beard and say that it represents the transition of the old technology (rail) to the new (fibre optics). I’m not sure if the fibres’ coloured night lights signify anything, other than looking groovy."

Can we have more of your vintage camera photos please?

I’ll continue with a shot taken with a 100 years old lens on a 50 years old camera (or at least one introduced 50 years ago): Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:4.5 f=12cm (uncoated lens, 1922, from a Contessa Nettel Adoro 6.5x9 folding plate camera), wide open, Zenza Bronica EC, Fomapan 200 film/Adox FX-39 II 1+9 (EI 160).

An image scanned from one of my grandfather's postcard sized negatives. A Saskatchewan threshing crew at the end of the day. Most likely shot on a No. 1A Autographic Kodak Junior in the late 1920's.

Correction - none of the cameras passed along to me from my grandfather used 122 format film. This image is not from a 1A camera.

I've added scans of the developing envelope showing how much grandfather Harry paid to have two rolls of 3A (122) film developed and printed.

Er-Rachidia, Morocco, 1985. Asahi Pentax MX, Ilford HP5 film/Promicrol 1+3 developer

The Lumichrome film was introduced in 1931 (source), the Super-Lumichrome in 1934 (source). Contrary to later anglophone naming conventions, these were orthochromatic black-and-white films. Assuming that Super-Lumichrome superseded the older Lumichrome, the sign must have been about 50 years old when I took the photo (posted earlier in “Post your B&W Film shots”, without the film context).

Paper negative

This was
taken with a Zeiss Ikon Ideal 225 9x12 folding plate camera from ca. 1927 with a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:4.5 f=15cm lens with maximum rise on Ilford Multigrade IV RC De Luxe photo paper. A Y2 (K2) yellow filter helps taming the contrast of the paper as only the low contrast green sensitivity of the Multigrade paper is used; it also results in blue skies not being rendered overly bright. The effective speed with the filter is about ISO 3. Exposure was approximately 1/2 second at f/14.

Next time I must wear gloves when cutting the paper to size and loading the plate holder.

That's excellent. I think the last time I used a paper negative, it was with an oatmeal box and a pinhole
Does it count as field curvature if the sensor is curved?

Circa 1983-84. Pentax ME Super. Not sure which lens, but likely Sigma 70-150mm f/3.5.

Washington Park Gazebo, Dubuque Town Clock, and Dubuque County Courthouse gold dome cupola.

Many thanks! I know you are not serious but with a pinhole there is no field at all, or rather, all is field.
