It's the BATTLE OF THE VITO'S! Who will win? YOU DECIDE!

I recently purchased these 3 Voigtlander VITO's from eBay and had the chance to run a roll of film through each. Prices ranged from $19.99 all the way up to $20 dollars and 50 cents!!!

First we have the VITO II made in 1951. A fold out camera with a Color Skopar 50mm f3.5. Out of the box and ready to go!

Second we have the VITO B made in 1954 with a Color Skopar 50mm f2.8 lens. Also Out of the box and ready to go!

Last but not least in Third we have the VITO C made in 1956 with a Color Skopar 50mm f2.8 lens. This camera required extensive lens cleaning and shutter repair. The lens was Collimated but I fear it's still not quite up to focus so we'll give her a pass at that.

The three Amigos.....not to be confused with the three Pentax Amigos!

The last two pics, especially the last (with the boat, not so sharp. But nothing at all wrong with the other pics from the dog pic down to the circles sculpture.

Nice exercise! Is the bigger finder of the C much better? Does it justify the added height?

Yes the finder is huge! I however prefer the fun factor and images of the VITO II.

I vote for the Vito

It looks like the Vito C isn't focusing at the right place... on the shot of your car, the background is in focus...
And it looks like with the paddleboat it may have some camera shake in with the focus issues...

I believe the early (small) Vito B with 50 f2.8 is rare, and that most came with the f3.5. Later Bs had the same body size as your C.

The Vito B is a very cute little jewel. It cocks the shutter when the film advances an internal cogged wheel. I have not used mine as I prefer my more conventional Yashicas or Retinettes.

I do like the VITO B because of its small diminutive size. It’s also fun to shoot and I believe the photos are crisp and render well.

I prefer the Vito II and the C-series (I have the CLR)
The B series is small and uses the same body as the Vito IIa

The Skopar 50/2.8 is just brilliant and as long as the speeds are within tolerance and the glass is clean you'll get great results

Voigtlander Vito Automatic II

Just be careful, Voigtlanders are addictive

Conclusion: With the Vito B the car's top is not shown. With the Vito C it does. Up to you which one you want.

Nice trio! All are very nice but that B is just gorgeous! And it has the performance to back it up.

Thanks,
Ismael
