Ultimately it would come down to build quality because functionally all the cable releases do the same thing. I have a third party cable release from JJC (also on eBay) and it has worked flawlessly each time.

I have a full-featured shutter release made from a sliced up headphone cable & a radioshack 2.5mm > 3.5mm miniplug converter. It cost nothing but time & spare parts.

As Ash said, they're all pretty much the same.

For that price, you are not risking much. I got a JUEYING brand through ebay from china for a similar price, it works great. After all it's just a switch.

I have a number of these. I add a flag to the head of all the remotes I buy. It just makes it much easier to pull the plug out of the camera. It is just 3/4 inch gaffers tape wrapped around the head in a couple of directions. It is thick enough to be strong, but thin enough to still bend.

Thank you
