I can't switch on my K-x Camera

I tried using rechargeable batteries, off the rack (Energizer and Duracell) batteries but can't switch on my camera. At times, using off the rack batteries allow me to switch on my camera (Eveready.

My camera is only 8 months old. Something is wrong. Perhaps someone can help me on this.

Thanks.

Was it exposed to any extreme weather conditions or major drops? Every time anything electronic has failed to turn on for me it's been because of water damage or drops

Just try regular AA's, and then take it from there.

I tried different brands. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not work. I haven't drop it or use it in extreme weather conditions.

Not sure what could have happened.

Thanks

Rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage than regular AA's, so there's no doubt that this is causing your problem. You've got to make sure that they're fully charged and not subjected to low temperatures.

Agreed with Adam. If it is working sometimes and not others then its the battery. If it were due to electrical or mechanical it would not work at all.

I see. I was using Sanyo Eneloop batteries bought in Japan but used in Singapore. It was okay initially but only gave me problems recently.

For regular batteries, should I use Akaline or Lithium type? thanks

Try the best quality batteries (Lithium) and update your firmware.

The newest K-x firmware manages better the batteries.

dear guys,

I updated my software for my K-x camera and yet face problems with the batteries, especially with the Sanyo eneloop type bought in Japan but used in Singapore. Don't know is it due to the voltage difference in Japan and Singapore.

Did you try working with the Lithiums only?
