I own a *ist DS. the owners manual talks about slow spped flash sync for both the pop up and external flashes. I cannot determine how to access this feature. Is there a setting in the menu or fn button. Thanks for your assistance. Charles1

As far as I was aware, you don't need to do anything to obtain slow speed sync- it just happens automatically for any shutter speed slower than the sync speed

I might be wrong, though, so don't quote me on that.

I believe when Pentax refers to slow-speed sync they mean trailing curtain sync. I'm not familiar to the *ist D but on newer Pentax cameras you pick this they same way you pick whether you want flash on or off.
