Experience with NiZn batteries and K-x?

I was thinking of buying another set of Eneloops, since my old set's performance has severely decreased lately, but I've learned about the 'new' type of rechargeables: the NiZn's. I've also found some positive testimonies about NiZn on the K-x (including on PF), but they are several months old, and I was wondering whether anyone had a longer experience with them that he could share with us... I'm particularly interested in their life span. Also, do they absolutely require a special charger? Thank you!

This isn't from experience, but rather from recent research:
-They will last significantly longer than NiMh rechargeables due to higher voltage
-They do need a special charger
-Their life span is relatively short (100-500 charge cycles)

Hope this helps in addition to what others may post!

Thank you, Adam. I use eneloops, but I've just ordered a set of powergenix from shnoop. There is a deal going on (expires in 24 hours): 4 AA batteries + charger for $9 shipped. I thought of posting this in a 'deal' thread, but I can't figure which thread category would be appropriate. Here's the link: Shnoop.com - Deal of the day! Daily deal Everyday!

UPDATE: I opened a 'deal' thread in the 'Accessories' category.

hey, for $9 shipped, I'll give them a try!

Thanks for the tips, and Adam for the research results.

Cheers
