Anyone found the optional AA battery adapter for...

The K-r? I went to the Pentax webstore and they don't have it listed anywhere. Just want to check the price as I may get the K-r also.

I wonder if the K200D battery grip would fit on the K-r?

Actually, looking at the specs in the Pentax DSLR comparison between the K-r, K-x, etc, it states it does not have a battery grip accessory, only a 4-AA adapter available to fit in the compartment.

From what I've seen of the K-r, its battery compartment fits either the included Lithium Ion or 4 AAs interchangeably, no adapters/grips needed.

No it needs the adapter for the AA batteries as there aren't any contacts on the compartment door. I saw one Sunday in store but the salesman didn't know about the adapter. They didn't have the K-r on display, they had just got them in stock.

The K-r's battery (which I also haven't found listed anywhere) is the D-Li109

The K-r AA battery adapter goes by the number of D-BH109.

The K-r comes with the slim D-LI109 lithium ion battery as standard.
Although the battery slot shows the outline for AA batteries, you'll need the optional AA Battery Holder D-BH109 before you can use those AA batteries. Any four AA batteries (Lithium, Ni-MH rechargeable, alkaline) can be used.
The optional AA battery holder is only just being shipped out so I would give it some time before they are available for sale.

Interesting that for the longest time, these cameras using AA batteries was a huge feature according to Pentax.

Now, they want you to use the pedestrian Li-Ion batteries and pay extra for the AA privilege. Would it have killed them to throw one of those in the box? It's like Apple not including the remote or the video adapters in the box of a $2500 laptop. Makes no sense to me.

The very first eBay prices from HK for K-r's battery and charger
look very good. And car adapter (!) included with main cable too.
This combo is definitely better, than official AA adapter at the moment.

Ebay.de has a battery for 12.80eur (+5 for shipping to Finland) I bought one of these

And another one for 18.90eur (+9.90 s&h to Finland)

And the charger (with car-kit) for 16.99eur (+9.90 s&h to Finland)

All these have free shipping in Germany

And interestingly they list it as compatible with Pentax K-2??
