Tripod suggestion around 150 euro.

Could you guys suggest me a sturdy tripod (it can be heavy, no problem) with a decent head for around 150 euro? I just ran over my Cullmann with the car (it was actually kinda cool because I was beginning to hate it).

I'm just a dumb American who has no idea what the conversion rate is. But if it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 Euro = 5 US dollars, then I can come up with a good answer for you.

I recommend you look at manufacture's web sites, then look at prices in B&H or some similar resellers on line ordering system. I am very sure you find something that fits you needs and can fit into your budget.

GIOTTO'S-Professional Photographic Equipment

Professional Tripods, Tripod Heads & Lighting Accessories | Manfrotto

BENRO

You might look at these three. I recommend taking your time to decide the features important to you. For instance: Twist or clamps on the sections? How short should it collapse to? 3 or 4 sections? Minimum possible height? Maximum possible height? Options for the feet? Built in bubble level? etc. You might think about spending more on the tripod and then spend what's left over on the head. Still, read reviews of opinions on the best models with in your price range. This could breakdown anywhere from $ 130/80 to 150/60 for the combination.

I saw this Giottos at Adorama for $170US with free shipping (US only I guess).....

Giottos MT-7271, 3 Section Lava Series, Universal Tripod Legs, Supports up to 22 lbs., Maximum Height 69.7", Metallic Color.
Mfr. Part: MT7271 SKU: GTMT7271

I'm not familiar with this one, so I'm not recommending.
Might be a good deal????

MT7271 Giottos MT-7271, 3 Section Lava Series, Universal Tripod Legs, Supports up to 22 lbs., Maximum Height 69.7", Metallic Color.

[update]- I just posted my reply and clicked on the link to make sure it's working and now the price is showing up as $305US. It was $169.95 on an email I received yesterday. This is what I copied directly from the email...

Giottos MT-7271, 3 Section Lava Series, Tripod Legs
Giottos MT-7271, 3 Section Lava Series, Universal Tripod Legs

$169.95

Reg: $305.90
I don't know why the price changes on the link... and there's an icon of a truck on the bottom with FREE printed within, so I'm assuming that's with shipping (but probably only in to a US address).

In this range are a lot of viable options from Benro, Giottos etc.. I would recommend to buy from a European dealer, as you will have to add a lot of postage, VAT and customs duties, when importing from the US. And a large package like a tripod won't go unnoticed through customs.

I would also think about getting a second hand Manfrotto or Linhof via ebay. Even the good Linhofs should be within your range.

Some noname tripods are just as good as Benro or Giottos, as they may come from the same source, just with another name sticker on them. Many Vanguards, Doerrs, Hamas etc. are made bei Weifeng, which sell the same tripods under their own brand name "Fancier". The legs are actually quite good, the heads are not.

I don't know the market in Portugal, but ebay could give you a first orientation about what is available, even if you buy elsewhere.

You should also decide upfront, whether yuo want a 3D head or a ball head. And to make that decision, you need to know, what kind of equipment (camera and lenses) you use for what photographic purpose.

Perhaps get an used series 2 Gitzo aluminium which will be far more rigid than anything brand new in this price range.
