Just wondering if using a battery other then the pentax for the k10 will void your warranty

No, only if the battery ruined the camera would the warranty be void!

I'm using a NP400 in my battery grip with no ill effects. I can't tell the difference in operation between the Pentax battery in the camera, and the NP400 in the grip.

As a side note, B&H has the Impact 1700 ma replacements back in stock.

doesnt alter the camera in any way. i know of someone using the impacts from b and h for about a month....

much like using higher rated MAh AA's in other products...
