K5 Battery in K7 grip

Maybe a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway.

I want to buy a grip for the K5 and I am aware the grip fits the K7. I never owned a K7 (went from K10 to K5) so curious is the battery the same? I ask because I sent K5 for stain issue https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/130021-sent-my-k5-pentax...how-going.html and the replacement came and included a new battery so I have 2. Just want to be sure I can actually use the spare battery in the grip.

K5 and K7 use the same battery.

So the grip is the same too? I have been looking for a grip for my K5 but everything I see says it's for the K7? So they will work on my K5 if it says for K7? (The grip, not the battery itself)

yes the BG-4 grip is for the K7 and the K-5

Yep, the K-5 and K-7 are completely interchangeable. That's one of the reasons I moved up to a K-5 to dual wield with the K-7.

now if only they would make a left handed grip to ease the dual wielding.. let alone for those left handed shooters who are SOL in the DSLR market.
