Class 10 Memory cards

Who has one? And what reader do you use?

I bought a PNY (yes, I know, but my 4gb has worked for a year with no problems), 8GB Class 10 SDHC yesterday got home to find my Targus that works well for Class 6 and below, won't read the class 10 card.

Nope, not what I asked. I asked which reader do you use. The class 10 card I bought works fine in K-x, but my Targus card reader won't read the class 10 cards so I can upload my photos to the computer. Yesterday I had to connect using the usb cable supplied with the camera. I don't like doing that because most times it drains the batteries if connected too long.

I've had no issues with my SanDisk Extreme 16GB, Class 10 card in any of my readers. This inludes a Targus (TGR-CRD25), as well as the built-in readers of my desktop. laptop and netbook.

Thanks Dgaies. Perhaps I just need a new Targus reader. I don't know what the model is on mine. I'll have to check that.

You're welcome.

The Targus reader I have (link) is about 5 years old; it certainly pre-dates class 10 cards as far as I know. I haven't used it in years, I only pulled it out to see if the class 10 card would work after I saw your message. I keep it around though as it's the only reader I have that can read an xD card.

There are some targus readers that only support up to 4GB. You just may have that model.

Hi Mar

I use 8gb sandisk extreme cards and the sandisk reader (don't know the model but the one with the little metal tripod base) I haven't used other brand cards, but the sandisk reader works very well, it is significantly faster than my older delkin reader (which also read class 10 cards but was pretty slooooooooooowwwwww)

edit: link clicky
NaCl(I must admit I really like the sandisk reader; it works, it works fast and it looks good)H2O

I found a SanDisk ImageMate Multi-Card USB 2.0 Memory Card Reader at B&H for near about free so I'll probably order that tomorrow. They aren't taking orders there until 8pm my time today.

I bought the SanDisk ImageMate Multi-Card USB 2.0 Memory Card Reader at Adorama for $13.95 with free shipping this afternoon. Should be here in 7 to 10 days.
