nuetral density filter

Wondering what nuetral density filters others like the most. Graduated or solid.
Graduated with hard or soft edge. 1,2,3 stops.

Thanks

I've been using Hitech ND filters. I've not used other brands, but so far I'm happy with Hitech. I find that a 2 stop works well for 'during the day' type landscape shooting, covering the sky. For sunrise/sunset landscapes, I'm finding a 3 stop is the filter I need. I like graduated filters, since I mostly shoot hilly terrain.

ND8, solid, multi coated if paid job. Others ok too, but need to shoot a color card for WB/color adjusting in PP.

I don't think it's a matter of "like the most" between a solid and graduated filter. It's like asking which you like the most between a screwdriver and a socket wrench. Maybe you mean "use most frequently." For me, taking mostly outdoor pictures and not having the highest dynamic range in my cameras, I use graduated soft-edge filters most - the cheap plastic ones, so they're not strictly ND, they're just a sort of greenish gray. Obviously expensive true ND filters would be preferred, except that they're... expensive. I use one and two-stop varieties, and sometimes miss having a 1.5.

I mostly use a HiTech soft graduated 1.2 (i.e., 4 stops) and a B+W 3.0 ND (10 stops).

Like northcoastgreg and kbrede I ended up with HiTech filters, both solid ND andd graduated grey. The quality is very good and they fit my cheap Cokin P holders. WIth a single slot holder I can use them even on the 10-20 mm Sigma without vignetting.

I have had (still have them somewhere in a drawer) all the Cokin filters and am very happy, that I replaced them with the optically much better HiTechs.

Hi Tech were offering a deal on 3 ND Grads here in the UK, 1.2, 3 & 6, for about the price of two single filters. .

Hi Tech are good filters and fit the cheap Cokin P Series holders perfectly.

I'm sure that I remember reading that the Cokin filters aren't actual ND, they are just grey.
I might be wrong though ?
