The official hood for it is the rubber RH-RC49. It can probably be gotten on ebay uk.

Since you seem to use both film and digital, I suggest one which flares out to a fairly wide diameter, but that's fairly deep, if you don't mind being a little storage-space extravagant. I've got one that works great, and I'd tell you about it, but it's vintage nameless hard plastic and I just don't know where it came from. I like the depth for protection from stray light sources and any light rain or other things like that, but it also doesn't give any full-frame problems.

Something shaped like some stock Nikon ones (more bell-than straight-tube-shaped) and fairly deep might be my next choice: (there are generics shaped like this: an actual old Nikon hood is spiff, though: you can use a step ring, which I do, anyway, cause I use other systems than Pentax, too. )

You can go with a fairly deep hood, though, with these, they aren't fussy.

There are some DYI threads on how to make useful, but cheap hoods for lenses. I made some for use with my macro lenses. If you're not looking to impress people, you may look into this option.

My suggestion is the tock Pentax lens hood for the Takumar 50 f/1.4

Example:

Pentax Takumar 50 1.4 Lens Hood Standard 49mm + Case | eBay

Only makes sense.

Speaking from direct experience, these work well also.

I have a round screw in Pentax hood that is made for the 50/1.4, 50/1.7 and 50/2 but it is a little short and would probably work with the FA 35/2.

It has no model number on it but it says:

STANDARD LENS 1:1.4-1.7-2 50mm

and on the other side it says

ASAHI OPT. Co., JAPAN 49mm

As Woof said, one for the Tak 50/1.4 would be an option or get a step down ring and emulate the style on the DA 40mm ltd.

I have a similar set up on my F 28mm. I think I bought that lens from you. It is nice looking and works great. I have been meaning to try the hood from the DA 40 on the FA 50 but haven't got around to it.

It wouldn't be the first time they have used the wrong photo. I got the round screw in hood about 3 years ago when I bought the FA 50/1.4. Its plastic but matches the FA nicely. I need to take a pic of it. For digital use, It would probably work better on my F 28 but I have one of the SoldBear style step down hoods on it. For people in the UK, the best bet would be to look for a Tak 50/1.4 hood or maybe the rubber one.

The DA 40 hood works on the FA 50mm 1.4, the FA 35 and my generic 28mm A lens, but I leave it on the 40mm. I use a standard rubber collapsible hood with the three primes mentioned, and with a D FA 100mm macro. I like the rubber hood because it collapses to a small size, fits all my 49mm dia. primes and allows easy use of a CPL.

I also have the rectangular Pentax hood for the 50mm, but it doesn't fit on any other lenses and doesn't take a CPL. Love the funky retro look though, so I do use it once in a while.

This looks like a good bet. I think I can see the necessary threads to hold a filter:

I don't know how well the square hoods would fit on the F/FA lenses. They fit over the outside with the clip going on the inside.

Despite their shape they are not all that effective. I have a set in both 52 and 49mm for the K and M lenses. I tend to use the 50 hood on the 35/2's and the 35 hood on the 28's.
