One word of caution. Make sure to check if your airline(s) have a weight requirement for carryons. I have a roller case that meets the carry on size requirements, but Hawaiian Airlines enacted a weight limit of 25 lbs which is very difficult to meet with equipment laden bags near the FAA maximum size. I do not know how prevalent this is industry wide.

That's one of the reason which me wants to avoid any 7lbs roller case
