hi all

i'm just looking over ebay at a couple of products at the gadget infinity shop and wonder if anyone has had any experience with the wireless flash triggers, and wireless shutters there

i've got the 540 flash, and because it doesn't work wirelessly with the k100d, i was looking around for something that could trigger it wirelessly
does anyone know if this trigger will work with the k100d+af540 in p-ttl?
Wireless Flash Trigger V2s for Pentax AF-540FGZ 360FGZ - eBay, Flash Accessories, Flashes Accessories, Cameras Photo. (end time 15-Nov-07 16:22:34 AEDST)
and how well it does work?

the other thing is the wireless shutter
Wireless Shutter Release for Pentax K10D K110D K100D - eBay Remote Controls, Accessories, Digital Camera Accessories, Cameras Photo. (end time 14-Nov-07 16:15:22 AEDST)
it says it will work in bulb mode, does anyone know if that is true? and also is it the kind of bulb mode that you hold the button down on the control as long as you want the shutter open (which doesn't make sense for wireless), or press once to open, and once again to close?

thanks
dave

I'm actually just sending mine back as the reciever gave out.

It worked pretty good, and thankfully they have an exchange policy

I'm using a pair of them with a pair of Nikon flashes, they work fine so far (had them for about 6 months).

All these wireless trigger will NOT work in P-TTL mode. So you would only get manual or auto flash.

Yea the triggers wont work any x-ttl modes only manual. Take a read on strobist and the GI triggers are very recommened by them. Plus lighting 101 is an eye opening read.

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, there are no wireless solutions that allow P-TTL mode. Even the nice, but expensive, Pocket Wizards aren't capable of relaying this information back and forth between strobe and camera. So radio-frequency wireless flash triggering will always make you resort to Auto or Manual mode on your Pentax flash unit, and never allow P-TTL.

I hate having to think as much as the next guy, but it's probably for the better.
