Hi,

I have a AF-330ftz flash unit I used with my Z10. I was wondering if it is safe to use it on my K10D? Does anyone know if it can damage the K10D?

On mine, the trigger voltage measures 3.1 volts. They are probably all the same, since they are relatively modern and weren't manufactured over decades like some flash models. However, you won't be able to use TTL mode on the flash (since the K10D only supports P-TTL). It appears to me that if you set it to TTL, it is actually behaving as though it's in MH mode. It will work fine with the K10D in MH or ML mode, but obviously you will need to either calculate the lens aperture from the guide number and distance, or take a trial shot first and adjust the aperture from there.

On the "home page" of this, the Pentax Camera Accessories section, scroll down to the letter
from Lepy titled "Non-Pentax flash on K10D." Click on it and then scroll down to letter #7 and
you'll see my letter to him, in part relating to my personal experience in using the AF-330 FTZ
on my K10D.
