Cokin Filter Holder P + 40mm Pancake?

I have a Pentax K-M with SMC DA 40mm f2.8 (Pancake). If I attached Cokin filter holder P + square filter to the 40mm, is it possible to hold grip with right hand? Because of the the lens is very thin.

I do not know the answer, but...
How about A size filter holder? Good for up to 58mm filter size. I use it a lot more than P.

I met a friend in the meantime having K-5, Da40 and P holder. So I asked him, if it is possible. It works well for him, but his fingers are not too thick.

I think it is OK. This is a photo of a K-7, DA 40, and Sunpak ring flash. The ring flash is attached to the lens via a 49-52mm step-up ring. The diameter of the ring flash is about 90mm. My paw is of average size; there is about 1cm clearance at infinity focusing (lens at the shortest).

If it's too tight for you, take some old 49mm filters, remove the glass and make an "extension" out of them.

I would think it would be tight but doable (i don't have the 40 so can't try. I've used the P for a couple of decades as my filter system though. it will look a little silly though

just tried with K-x. It works. Maybe 5mm clearance between my fingers and the P holder. Probably wouldn't work if I had gloves or thicker fingers.
