Flower Petal Shaped Lens Hood for Sigma 150-500 ?

Hi, I just purchased a Sigma 150 - 500 OS HSM and would like to get a different lens hood for it, i love the flower petal shaped one that the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 has, which is more sturdy. I saw that the Sigma 50 - 500 has a flower petal shaped hood also (would it fit the 150 - 500?). I searched for hoods on the internet but only found a seller in the UK that sells such a hood. Does anyone have a custom hood for the Sigma 150 - 500 mm?

The 50-500 is wider than the 150-500, so the hood wouldn't fit.

Nor would it provide as good coverage because it is used for 50mm FL.

Thanks for the input! Im already getting used to the supplied Hood, and I guess that it is shaped that way for a reason :-)

You probably aren't interested in this, but I was researching DIY accessories and came across this site.

Free printable cardboard lens hoods

It is for printables lens hoods. Might work, if you need one at the last minute, or want to try a design before buying.

for all those interested, there is a spreadsheet which I posted called hoodcalc.xls which calculates circular hoods, but which has all the formulas necessary with a little work to generate petal hoods as well.

as for the 50-500 hood for use on the 150-500 lens dont be too quick to write it off. the bigma, from memory is an ASP-C lens, where as the 150-500 is a full frame lens, and as a result the hood is wrong any way

also neither hood will be great because they are designed for the shortest focal length
