Thanks to everyone for the help on the lens problem. The advice was good and my old lenses now work fine on my Pentax K10D.
I have another question: I just built the shutter release circuit that pop4 posted. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/141792-post1.html
I got the parts at Radio Shack was easy to build but when I went to insert the Submini Phone Plug into the phone jack on my K10D it didn’t want to go in the whole way.
Would only insert about 2/3 the way and got tight the shaft is ½ inch long. I didn’t want to force it to much, but think it should have gone in easier than that. Part #RS- 274-244. Is there a shorter phone jack?

The 3/32 (2.5mm) mini-stereo jack that you have looks about right. The plug is actually quite a tight squeeze, I know mine is, so just push it in harder.

I pushed a little harder it went right in the switch and buttons work fine. Cost me 10 bucks.
