What are my options for wireless remotes?

Do the wireless remotes behind the cam or one must be in front?

Have K-x K-01 645D

The k-x only has a front Ir receiver. Not sure about the others.
k-7 and k-5 have front and rear.
Any eBay Ir remote that says it is for pentax will work.
Some folks even use programmable TV remotes.
Creative use of a mirror may help if you need to trigger k-x from behind.

I paid US $1.65 including shipping. Works fine. I am however still pouting that Pentax has eliminated the legacy mechanical remote shutter release from all its bodies.

A few days ago there was a genuine Pentax remote on Ebay for less than $10. I bought but not yet have received a generic for less than $2.

No, but that one does support 2-stage so you can both focus and trigger the shutter. Didn't I read someplace that folks were using RF flash triggers to also trigger cameras by remote? Does that work?

My Yongnuo RF-602 will trigger the camera just fine and the half-press works too, unfortunately due to the very slight shutter lag you can't trigger a camera and the flash at the same time. Of course, a wired remote port on the body is needed, so the K-m, K-x, K-r and the K-01 are out. I wouldn't recommend the RF-602 as a flash trigger though, since some modification is needed to make them sync properly on Pentax.

I bought the Goja remote of Amazon for $10 shipped. The battery arrived dead and I had to replace that but so far other than that it's worked just fine.
