whatever that piece is called that screwes into the camera then clips into the head

for Amvona units, does anyone know if i can buy them from anyone else other than Amvona, and what other units would fit on to its head?

I believe you are referring to the quick release plate. Not sure if anyone else sells that specific plate design, but it's $20 to get one from them - I called and asked.

-depending on which head you have then the wimberly, kirk, RRS plates will work..
