Grip is not reacting to half-press

Hi, i have a not original Grip for K-5 (Meike), i used it just few times and then removed it for quite a long time. Yesterday I put it back on K-5 and noticed that pressing shutter half way down does not involve AF to work. When I press all the way down it just takes picture. However the af button works. The grip used to work perfectly and i did not use it much and now half press does nothing. Ideas?

Sounds like the switch contact is possibly oxidized, I would spray some electronics contact cleaner in the switch and then work it. Just make sure to use the kind that is safe for plastics!
