Your method of carrying 2+ bodies, and straps

As of early next week, I ought to be going from one body (K200D) to two (K-x). As I am a prime shooter right now, I anticipate that I will probably bringing both bodies with me whenever I go on photographic jaunts. Currently I'm just using the stock Pentax strap, but two of those just hanging around my neck will result in the bodies banging/clattering into each other. Right now I am envisioning the two bodies hung diagonally over the shoulder and across my body, one over left and one over right.

For anyone who shoots with more than one body, what is your preferred method for carrying 2+ bodies? Also, if you have a favorite camera strap other than the stock Pentax strap, please tell me what kind and why you like it better.

I keep the second one in a camerabag (that holds two cameras with lens nose down) and just swap them as needed. I haven't found a working solution to the 'banging against each other' problem.

I run 2 bodies, 2 K5's. DA*16-50 on one, 50-135 on the other. To get around without banging I went to Black Rapid. I have 2 straps, a cargo and a regular one. Your supposed to get the addon that allows you to link them, but I just put one over one shoulder, the other over the other in an X like pattern when all is said and done and I couldn't be happier. Works great! I'm scared of droppage so I also use a carabiner to link the strap to one of the strap loops on the body just in case!

I have one, but she's not much into photography and oftentimes I am taking my daughter out for day trips and giving the wife a day off.

When I carry two bodies, one has a large lens mounted (70-200, 100-300 or 300) and I carry it with a Black Rapid strap. I'll use one of my bags (which depends on the situation) for the other body & lenses.

I, too, keep the primary on a Black Rapid, and the secondary camera on a conventional strap around my neck. Granted, I've only done this once, when I shot my first wedding a few weeks back, but it seemed to work for my purposes.

I have been using the BlackRapid for my concert work. With two K-5's and 16-50/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 zooms I have everything pretty much covered. I usually keep some fast primes here as well (FA31, DA55, FA77).

If I use a third camera, I sling my K-01 with the DA10-17 around my neck in the conventional manner: with its permanent live view it's perfect for shooting over the moshing crowd.

wow, we're using very similar kits. What do you find are your weaknesses?

I've recently found my kit bag has been running:
2 K5's, DA*16-50 2.8, DA*50-135 2.8, DA*55 2.8, DA 40mm 2.8, FA77mm 1.8, DA 10-17. I also got room in my bag for either my Sigma 70-300 or Tamron 90mm macro depending on the venue. I got a Sigma 30mm 1.4 on the way.

I know for me my issue is AF speed as the SDM is very slow compared to my FA77 and DA 40.

That's why I have stuck with the Sigma EXII HSM 70-200/2.8 rather than the (lighter and probably sharper) DA*50-135. I have the DA*60-250 but reserve that for outdoor festivals. I occasionally break out the DA*300 for big shows as well. I carry a lens exchange case on my LowePro belt for this reason.

As for my weaknesses: they are behind the camera. There's nothing wrong with my kit.

lol, I hear that. it took me a while until I found the settings that work best for me on my K5, then I started seeing my skills improve. but still got tons to learn. Dont' think you ever stop though in photography.

that 60-250 must be heavy to haul around festival grounds. then again... how else are you going to get the white of their eyes.

I'm like Ole. I usually tour cities with 2 bodies and 2 lenses. Considering one body is always in hand I use a small shoulder bag to hold the second body. This is either a tiny lowepro bag or more reciemtly a fossil bag that can hold 1 body plus a lens. My typical set up for cities is a sigma 10-20, a Tamron 28-75 and am 8mm fisheye

I use a f.64 BP large backpack to take two bodies & whatever lenses I think I'll need to the location. Once I get there, if I want both bodies at the ready, I use two "Black Rapid" type straps, one hung on each side to carry both bodies with lenses attached.
