Silly me I've never really taken a good look at the Cokin offerings.
I'll give this approach some thought.

Cokin stuff is useful if you use filters a lot, and particularly if you use em on tripods, use a lot of graduated filters, etc. I used to rather like their diffusers for weddings, when that sort of effect was in style. You could just slip em in and out that easily, carry a few of them in a blazer pocket or some such, ...that's about as far as I ever took it, myself. I think they're a really good choice for landscapey stuff. ('P' size or bigger for grads is suggested) I don't suggest them for all shooting styles, myself. They aren't really suited to mine: I could only really see buying one again as "This is my specialized graduated/split filter holder" (I'd hoped to return to a town where tromping around with a tripod and stuff in snowscapes could be win, even for me.
) But they just excel at that sort of task. Not for every-day, in my book.
I do really like their basic diffusers, though: they were really a nice piece of subtlety in an age of excess.
(80's weddings and stuff, forget about it.
