540FGZ Mode Jump

I shot a lot of wireless flash this weekend at my nephews wedding and reception. I used two 540's and a 360FGZ. The wireless worked flawlessly (except when I screwed up). However, when I started shooting with the the 540FGZ on my hotshoe at the reception the flash would jump from the regular sync setting to "slow sync." Do you think that this was just some sort of a glitch from using it so much, or has anyone had a similar situation?

I have situation on It works in different mode great when it is in wireless mode but if it is on hotshoe of my K10D, even I set it to M or Auto, once I half press the Shutter button it will go back to PTTL no matter what... I have no idea how I can set it to use M or Auto mode when it is on hotshoe.. anyone can help?
