Any idea what is that M52 ring for?

Image is from an ebay auction, seller has no idea about it.

Reversing ring for macro work? It would make sense, since it's pictured with a set of macro tubes.

Probably a step-up ring. Looks like 52-62.

It looks like a 52mm Cokin adapter to me. I need to see the other side of the ring to tell for sure.

Whatever it is, it's not worth much.

It looks like a cokin adapter to me too judging by the font and text.

Depends on what's on the other side of the ring:

Smooth = Cokin adapter
Male thread = reverse lens coupler
Female thread = step-up ring

Step rings and coupler normally have the diameters labeled on the outside rim of the ring.

Cokin has 4 sizes of filter holders and a series of 4 different sized adapter rings for the holders.

The A-series which I have measures at the holder side at 62mm.

I'm guessing from the chart that the others are 82mm, 96mm and 118mm

Male threads on both the side, so I assume it's a reverse lens coupler. No diameter mentioned on the other side but looks like 62mm. May be someone was using it for macro setup.

I know Cokin make a 49mm / 52mm adapter for the A Series filter holder, it's threaded both sides and the large dia' in the middle holds the plastic filter holder. Perhaps they made them for 60 / 62 ?
Or you might be right and it's a reversing ring for another lens and macro work. I use my old Cokin 49 / 52 for just that purpose.
