Lowepro SlingShot 200AW

Hi

I am looking for new camera bag. I really like Lowepros Slingshot 200AW, but does K100D and Sigma 70-300 DG APO attached fit in it? According to my measurement it makes total length of 19.5 cm so it should fit but I don't want it to be too tight.

It will fit, I did have the 200AW and just recently went to the 300AW. Excellent bag you will enjoy it.

Thank you for information.
I just came back from my first trip with Slingshot and it was worth every Euro I paid for it.

Nice choice on this bag. I have it and am constantly suprised by how much kit I can fit into it and still carry it around comfortably (and have quick easy access to boot!)

I really like the LowePro slingshot. We have one at work (200) to carry the company Sony DSLR and it's a nice bag.

I bought a regular LowePro, no the slingshot as when I tried the Slingshot I found it caused some pain to my shoulder, but then I have a shoulder injury. I recommend try it first.

I have been having a look around for a 2nd bag at the moment ... and I keep coming back to this bag ... it hasn't been easy trying to decide on what to get though.

I use this bag when I am just walking around.

For intentional trips, because I most often must use a tripod (I like manual lenses, but I have bad eyesight) I use the Mini Trekker for the tripod holster.

I also have the 200AW and it's a good one. It's great for taking more lenses for day trips, but I find myself leaving everything but the kitchen sink in it and eventually just too much stuff to pack around. Now I'm experimenting with the 6 Million Dollar home for around town day trips with just a couple lenses and a few filters and such. It holds the K10D with grip and 18-250 lens attached...so I think it will be a winner.

Just resurrecting this thread to get some opinions.

Yesterday I received my belated birthday gift of the Slingshot 200AW. Very pleased to have it, but I'm a bit concerned by the strap: With all my gear loaded up (Three flashes, three lenses, two camera bodies and lots of little stuff) the bag is quite heavy, and the stitch-join where the shoulder-strap connects to the top of the bag seems quite flimsy. I was feeling for any reinforcement-material inside the strap but there seems to be none.

Has anyone had problems with the strap coming unstitched or breaking under the weight of a full bag?

The only stitching I've had come apart is on the pocket in the main compartment. I think that is probably the strain on it from pulling the velcro apart.

My 100 AW has not come apart yet, and the kit is usually as follows: (and it takes creative packing to fit it all in, I can tell you!).
Main compartment - all but one divider removed. k10d with either DA* 50-135 or DA* 16-50 mounted, hood reversed. The unmounted lens goes in the back of the pocket.
Top compartment - DA 12-24 and M 100 macro. Sometimes I carry one of my converters instead of one of the two lenses.
Front pocket (zippered) - 77mm CPL, my reading glasses. ($10 from drug store)

I should have bought the 200 AW, but didn't and I'm too cheap to take the hit. I just overfill it.

I know JB Hi-Fi stock Lowepro bags ... but they don't have the 200AW in stock anywhere ... i am going to see if they can order one in for me ... as I still have a $100 voucher for there ... and was looking at using it of they can get one in for me.
