The Perfect Camera Bag

Hi All,

I currently have reworked my setup to carry as standard:
K5 + DA15 + DA35 + DA70 (one of the 3 fixed to camera)

I am looking for the perfect bag to fit this combo... I do have other bags but are either over/undersized for this task.... any good suggestions..., anyone with the same walkaround setup with the perfect solution?

ThinkTank Retrospective 5 with two of the lenses on an Op/Tech two-sided rear lens cap. No grip.

Billingham Hadley Pro. It doesn't look like a camera bag, it can take a beating and will last forever. And stylish to boot.

The secret is not to use camera bags witch made for camera. Find not camera bag that you like and modify it. You gain with that: stealth and comfort of bag that is made by you the way you see it.

Domke F-5XB - with some of the vecro covered over to make it quieter.
domke f-5xb| B&H Photo Video

I use the taller "2-storey" F-5XC as i always seem to take other stuff like a flash or a 18-135WR or 55-300 or 8-16 or 100macro or GPS or lots of filters, or my Q depnding on what i feel like when I pack it.

Or ..... just your right hand for the K-5 with lens attached and 2 jacket pockets with a lens each.
If youve only got 1 spare jacket pocket available then join the two spare lenses together with an Op-tech double cap (abt $15) or rear caps glued together.

If there's such thing, lets us all know, because most have several "perfect" bags about the house.

this, I have 8

Anyway for wiw my everyday street bag is the lowepro passport sling.
I fit all my personal stuff in it (keys, agenda, cell phone etc...) + body and lens (which usually is k5 and 18-250 or 17-50/2.8).
There is enough space to fit even a gorillapod and a flash but I don't always carry them, especially if there's sunlight.

It really depends on your style, preferences, etc. For walkaround I prefer a messenger bag, for hiking a backpack with an insert, for short strolls a sling bag.

The best bag I ever saw and owned is the Snoop messenger by Timbuk2. Maybe look it up and see if it fits for you.

I like the Rally series of messenger bags from Tamrac.
They have a wide comfortable strap that doesn't twist and is long enough to wear cross body.
One of the smaller ones like Rally 4 would work for you.

Just looked at them on Amazon. Nice bag, lots to recommend it.

They were having a huge sale on the company's website some time ago, the discounts were pretty impressive.

the Snoop is the first bag I've owned that completely fit my needs (plus it looks great!). Large opening, sturdy, anchor for a tripod, weatherproof, slim enough, room for the K20D with 17-70, two primes, 60-250 and a flash, as well as small accessories. I can really vouch for it, but again it really depends on each person's style. I love a messenger bag when I expect to change lenses often.

In another thread I started I was pointing out deficiencies in Photo Messenger bags I have seen/used/handled and someone suggested that the Tenba 638-235 Large Engraveable Messenger meet all my objections and exceeded them. In looking at it online it does appear to be a solid contender in addressing all my concerns over the ones I have seen to date.
