Lens hood

Anyone know where I can find a pentax 67mm lens hood for 16-45mm zoom? I have tried Amazon, B&H, and Adorama with no luck. Also tried the Pentax product site. Really don't want a second party lens hood (have one and it just doesn't work as well).

Thanks for any help.

Not all third party hoods are created equal. I bought one for my kit lens from eBay that is indistinguishable from the original aside from not saying Pentax on it.

Thank you so much. Bought the bullet and ordered it from the pentax site. Maybe the husband will be able to hang on to it this time.

I bought my DA-L 55-300 used with a third party hood on it that works just fine. It even has the polarizer window. I miss the white dot to line the hood up, but I've figured out how to hold it to put it on correctly.

Thanks for your input. The only problem with the third party hoods are that you don't know until you get one. We already bought one and it just didn't fit properly so we will spend the extra and get the right one. Appreciate it though.

Different hoods for different lenses. "Clone" hoods are available for some lenses and not available for others.

For DA 16-45mm F/4, there is no clone hood available.

I've been looking for a third-party (read: inexpensive) hood that is bayoneted to the DA 100mm WR Macro but haven't been able to locate one yet. The genuine article costs about $50.

If your 3rd party 55-300 hood was like mine, it has a little 'dent' molded into the plastic for an alignment mark. I just used a dab of 'Liquid Paper' to fill in the dent. My 'white dot' works just fine. Failing that, find some one who likes bright fingernail colors, and see if you can borrow a tiny amount.

Why does that piece of round plastic cost so much? If the old boy loses this one a new husband will be cheaper.

Want me to tell you a story about a piece of round plastic?

A boy told his dad, "Dad, I lost my contact lens."
"When?"
"Just now. I was playing basket ball in the driveway, then lost it."
"Did you look for it?"
"Yeah, dad. I looked for it for hours in the driveway. But couldn't find it. Now what do I do?"
The dad went out to the driveway, then came back in 10 minutes, "Here it is."
"Dad, how did you find it so quickly? I really looked, but couldn't find it."
"Well, you were looking for a piece of plastic. I was looking for $200."
