Pentax O-GPS1 Compatible on K-5II?

I just bought the Pentax O-GPS1 and have been trying it out on my K-5 and K-5II. It seems to be working fine on the K-5. Unfortunately, stars seem to trail when using it on the K-5II (firm 1.04). I calibrated it many times, and just cannot get the K-5II to track well. I assumed it is compatible with the K-5II, is my assumption correct?

Thanks

It should be compatible, but perhaps there's an outstanding bug!

My O-GPS1 works fine on both my K-5 and K-5 IIs. Try being a little more aggressive with the calibration and fine calibration, i.e., faster rather than slower movements.

Faster movements? OK, thank you I will try that. I also found both to calibrate OK with the regular calibration. But for some reason the fine calibration for the astrotracer is a mess on both my cameras now. When I check the compass after a fine calibration, the compass is jumping all over and north and south are not 180 degrees. I bought it used on Amazon, and am wondering if it is defective. I also moves away from any wires, in the middle of my street, in case there is any magnetic inductance from something nearby. Nothing seems to work and the first successful fine calibration with the K-5 was luck. I may have to return it.

That doesn't sound right. I try to face north when I am doing the calibrations. Oh, and you will likely find if you do get it to work that the stated maximum exposure times given by the unit are pretty useless. I find that half of the maximum is all I can do without trailing.
