I just realized that I'm getting older As a sucker of old manual focus glasses, I used to get more focused than the miss-focused pics, but it's now the other way around. Now I really needed one of those focusing screen. I see several versions of those Chinese made screen, are they all the same?

My guess is they are, but I'm not sure. I can tell you I bought the cheapest generic Chinese screens eBay had to offer, and they work fine. I have one K-x with the cheap screen & the other has the KatzEye, and about the only real difference is the Katzeye starts to suffer from prism blackout at F8, and the Chinese one around F5.6. Not a big deal, in my opinion.

I don't know if you're familiar with the install procedure, but you just want to make sure you get the screen calibrated (shimmed) properly when you put it in, or it won't help you. You can order a set of shims from Pentax for around $7. Odds are the screen will be a bit different thickness than the one already in your camera, so it probably won't be correct unless you change the shim.
