L-brackets for the K-5 are back at RRS!

I just ordered mine!

I've been using the generic plate that came with my Kirk ball head and have found it really frustrating because the screw had a tendency to become loose. I shoot a lot of vertical images and finagling with the ball head to set the camera up for a vertical snot is a royal pain in the butt.

Needless to say, I'm quite happy!

If they'd make one for the grip, I'd be a buyer. Though, I guess now I actually need for it to be for the K-3, which very well may be inter-changeable with the K-5 since the size is so close.

Ditto if they made one with for the grip and since my K3 is coming, that too.

Good news for Pentax. I got what I thought was one of the last of these when I bought my K-5 last year. It's something I automatically factor in to the purchase price of a new camera. Too bad no plate for the battery grip but at least it's a move in the right direction.

AFAIK, they've never made one for the K-5/K-7 with a grip. One thing that would be nice if Pentax is able to garner a larger market share under Ricoh is if accessory manufacturers would stop treating as an afterthought, if they give us any thought at all.

Just did a live chat and they don't/won't do custom jobs. To get a full-sized grip requires demand.

Yeah, I had the same conversation with them a couple of years ago.
