Unusual 49mm Takumar hood - need to identify

I had this hood for some time but just realized that it is very unusual. This is a two part hood with 49mm threads for 50mm Super-Takumar lenses from early 1960s. They had similar hood with 46mm threads in late 1950s and these hoods fitted nearly all the lenses in the Pentax system. That’s why they do not say which lens they are made for. Asahi switched to dedicated hoods in mid 1960s and no longer manufactured two part hoods.

This hood is very unusual as the lettering on it is unmistakably from S-M-C era – early 1970s. Note all capital characters on ASAHI. OPT. CO. This hood was manufactured to match capital lettering on S-M-C lenses. Anyone knows which lens it was made for since all S-M-C lenses have dedicated hoods. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe your hood appears on pdf page 18 of the 1958 Asahi Pentax K Manual linked here. The Password is Pentax. The photo unfortunately does not show the two pieces separated but I had such a hood when I owned a K and the Auto-Takumar 55/1.8 Zebra lens. The resident authority on that era, Seamius (Seaain), seems no longer to be active. Blue might also know.

I got one with a 'zebra' Asahi Auto Takumar 55 / 1.8 that was fitted to an Asahi Pentax K that is dated around 1957 - 1958. And I am 100% certain the collection of gear that I bought was all bought at the same time and kept by a guy until he died and I bought it from his daughter.

edit
I've just looked at it, and the lens hood is 55mm thread and has no markings at all, the lens is 46mm so the silver coloured part is basically a step ring from 46 to 55, and that is marked "ASAHI OPTCo.Japan"

My suspicion confirmed - when I had the same kit I hoped the hood was correct but I wasn't completely sure.

Note: I also had purchased a Bakelite all-black 46mm Asahi Optical Co. hood on eBay that sat in my discards box for years until I got the "K" here. I sent it on when I sold the camera.

Thanks for the input. I also have the older version with 46mm threads and two versions with 49mm threads. The two parts hoods are designed to take Series VII filters that were very popular in the 1950s. What is unusual about the hood I have is not only the lettering that became all capital when Pentax moved from Super-Takumar to S-M-C TAKUMAR lenses but also the finish - it's mat while hoods from late1950s are all glossy. Also look at your S-M-C lenses or hoods - it says - "ASAHI OPT. CO., JAPAN" while Super-Takumar is: "ASAHI OPT Co, Japan". I assume this hood was made in the1979s for one of the lenses with 49mm filter threads. The question is which one.

Séamius was banned. Seemingly a lengthy one at that.

Huh. For a long time I didn't think he banned members. Then I came to close being invited to take a short vacation.

And maybe it wasn't Séamius. Edit: Checked my Feedback. It was woof (Seaain)
