I was experimenting using the Pentax 540 flash in wireless mode, mounted on a Stroboframe. I noticed a difference in resulting images depending on whether I used vertical or horizontal composition. I tried it using a Stofen, and without, but that made no difference.
The verticals were under-exposed, but if I added + 1 on the flash (and even a little with the Fn menu), then it seemed about the same as the horizontals. And this was not bounced but straight on.

Anyone else experience this, and, any possible explanation for this phenomenon?

By the way just for the heck of it, I put a Sunpak 383 on the Stroboframe using a radio trigger, then took the same shots vetical and horizontal. Both turned out well-exposed.
So I'm still wondering why it was different with the 540...

I've used my 360 on a stroboframe, but with a wired off camera set up, and it exposed very nicely....perhaps it is the 540
