Bizarre O-ME53 Eyecup Experience
Last week I was sitting on a boat behind a woman who sprayed herself with an aerosol sun-screen of some sort. I looked through my camera seconds later and saw that my viewfinder was completely cloudy and I couldn't see a thing. I removed the eyecup and cleaned both surfaces of the lens with a lens cloth and some lens cleaner fluid to no avail--the lens remained milky white, and I convinced myself that something in the sunscreen spray caused crazing or something on the lens. I pulled it off, stuck in the camera bag and suffered through the rest of my trip without an eyecup (which definitely affected my manual focusing!).
When I got home a week later I pulled the eyecup out of my bag and, lo and behold, it looks brand new! Good thing I didn't toss it overboard...
