Cheap filter test, expected results or not?

I have tried 2 Polaroid filters and since this my first experience, i am wondering if these results are to be expected or these filters are really junk.

First image is with the Polaroid IR720. I was really suprised the AF was working and the exposition was really fast.

Now the setting sun, filterless.

And with the Polaroid ND 0.9 filter. It gives a weird violet tint.

What do you think, should i upgrade? Stack them? Maybe really easy to correct in Lightroom, I haven't tried yet.

I can't comment on the IR filter as I've never used one.

The colour cast with the ND is not unusual for a cheap filter (and gets worse the more ND's you stack).
I've switched to Hitech ND filters for this very reason.

I will concur, color casting occurs with most cheap ND filters but is easily fixed in PP.

Good news for the ND filter, I will correct the colours in Lightroom.

For the IR filter, i was shooting at 1/60s. I guess I must buy a darker filter like a 760, 850 or 950... I will just stack the 2 if it not dark enough.

As I understand it, the IR filter lets through a specific wavelength of light, the number reflects the wavelength - 720nm in your case.
wouldn't stacking different IR filters cause the whole scene to go black (i.e. first filter out everything but 720nm and then filter out everything but 760nm)?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
