Pentax Tele-Converter T-3 ?????

Hi, I recently purchased this tele-converter on "the auction site" simply because I was intrigued by it and could not figure out exactly what it was or how it works. I'm hoping someone can give me some help.

It looks like an adapter for one of their point-n-shoot film cameras to give a slight telephoto effect to the built-in lens.

Jim, Thanks, I think you are exactly right. I found some images of something similar for a Canon camera. Be nice to know what camera it actually fit.

Found the following in Google Books:

July 1989 issue of Popular Photography, page 104, advertisement by Focus Camera (one of those dense full-page listings of many camera, lenses, etc).

In the Pentax section, under "AUTOFOCUS," the following are listed in this order:

Auto Sport AF camera ($98)
TE-3 Teleconverter ($23)
Ultra Sport NEW! DX
TE-5 Teleconverter

I believe the Pentax "Sport" line was their PC35 series of early autofocus compacts, for example "Super sport" was model PC35AF.

Craig , thanks , I guess it's just a matter of knowing where to look. I searched Google but didn't come up with much. It cost me $5 plus shipping so no great loss I'll .probably just give it to Goodwill. :-)

Resurrecting this thread only because a Pentax TE-5 tele converter came up on eBay recently, and wondering what it was, this thread here was about the only Google hit that answered my question.

I am attaching the auction photo of the Pentax TE-5 tele converter for reference. Again, it seems to be a "hang-on" tele lens for old Pentax PC35AF point-and-shoot film cameras.
