Eneloop - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Panasonic now owns Sanyo and the latest version Eneloop (model #s BK-3MCC and BK-4MCC for the AA and AAA models respectively with the AA being 2000 mAh) have the maximum number of recharges increased to 2100. The new 4th generation batteries were apparently released in April 2013 with Panasonic labeling. I bought my Eneloop this last fall at Costco and they are clearly labeled Sanyo and are the 3rd generation product (HR-3UTGB and HR-4UTGB). The AAs are 1900 mAh. Apparently there was/is a fair amount of previous generation product still in inventory. As might be imagined, I am not too happy with Costco.
I did a quick look-see and Eneloop are also still sold under the Sanyo name, at least in N. America. B&H sells Eneloop under both brand names, though the most of the Sanyo version appears to be 3rd generation or earlier product based on specs.
