Lights... Camera... Action!

Hopefully this is the right place to place this thread. I've spent the last two hours reading every thread on wireless triggers/flash/off camera flash and was just wondering for all you fellow Pentax Strobist out there.

1) What's your strobist set up?
-What flashes do you have? How many on average do you use?
-Which wireless trigger do you use/recomment?

2) Favorite subject(s) to shoot?

I don't mean to step over any toes by asking these questions. Just a very lost confused and curious girl wanting to be steered in the right direction.

1) AF540FGZ and Nikon SB 22. I'm currently hunting for reasonably priced SB 25s and SB 28s. The price of SB 26s (if you can find one), has gone through the roof over the last little while. Hmmm. I wonder why?

Currently I'm triggering the 540FGZ with the built in flash. When that doesn't work, I use the F5P TTL cable and shoe adapter. If that's too short I watch TV. I have an order on the way from flashzebra.com, so once that arrives I'll be able to get past the above mentioned problems.

I too can vouch for the reliability of Pocket Wizards, but I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a set of Elinchrom Skyports in the not too distant future.

2) Portraits and still life.

I use a Pentax 360, with an old minolta and or an old pentax flash..

I use the Flashwaves wireless triggers, and they work great.. I got them because unlike PW's or Skyports, I can mount a flash ON the receiver.

I dont really have a favourite subject yet, but I have shot a couple of plays.

I have 2 AF360's and 2 AF400T's (for the *istD and one is just a backup) plus a strobe umbrella. I'm going to add an AF540 or Metz 58 to this mix but really not needed much right away.
I am getting a set of 3 receivers and a transmitter from Flashwaves G9Chon - FlashWaves That will do a fine job of the radio wireless. Up till now it's been Optical triggers, internal wireless or 5 p cables.

I would say 6 is the mark.

get seven and you are over doing it.

setup:
one flash on each camera (two camera system for me on a wedding.)

one flash per lightstand @ two lightstands = 2 flashes

two backup flashes.

total: six flashes.
i dont knwo if you are a working pro or not, but the backups are so important. those flashes on lightstands have a tendency to call out for insurance claims when guests not them over or the wind or......me...haha

Score!

Just an update to my Strobist gear list. A friend inherited some Nikon gear from an old friend of his, and since he already had a flash he doesn't use much, I was able to get two SB 26s at a very good price. I'm pretty stoked about getting these.

I'll be even more stoked when I get my order from FlashZebra.
