Pentax Refconverter?

I'm very interested in getting one of these for my soon-to-be K50. Would either the "A" or "M" work with it? Also I see Seagull mentioned, is this a good alternative?

Thanks again!

I have the 'A' and it fits the K50. I had a SeaGull for awhile when I misplaced the Pentax. They both work main difference is the Pentax is finely crafted vs. the Sea Gull plastic. The Sea Gull does come with many different mounts for different cameras.

I do not know the Seagul thing but I have also the 'A' pentax ref converter and I have to say this is a superb piece of equipment. My came with case and TWO different eyepieces - one short and one wide and high ( which I mainly use). I am using it for focus confirmation with K10D and my film bodies - mainly with wide angle and telephoto lenses. Also in macro mode - absolutely indispensable. I read somewhere that one of those pre-'A' versions had somehow reversed the picture so when you moved the view would move the opposite direction ( or something ) - but I cannot confirm that since it is from online sources - not first hand.

The "M" and "A" fit the viewfinder frame - older versions made for the K and M42 bodies won't fit. The "M" version lacks the little cutout at the bottom that allows easy viewing of information displayed in the frame around the focusing screen (all the Sv, Av, ISO, hexagon, Flash, SR and Ev Comp LED's).

great information, thanks all!

So, it looks like I'll try to find the "A" model; hopefully I can find one that isn't priced out of the sky!

Good luck ! They are fairly hard to find - I remember buying mine a year or so ago for something like £90 shipped - that's not cheap at all !! But when I got it - the build quality simple made me smile

I might have to get the Seagull; I read somewhere that it was a problem to keep it attached, so that would not be good!

FYI .. you can also just file down the metal side tabs to make the K / M42 version fit on (all) later M, A, P & DSLR series!
