which card is best for burst mode

Hi,
Currently, I using for Pentax K-30 a SanDisk Ultra 30MB/s SDHC I class 6 card and I notice that it takes few seconds to save the picture after burst mode.have

Which card would be recommended to reduce the time of saving the photos to card?

Thank you in advance.

My fastest cards are the Sandisk Extreme Pro series. You never have to wait with those.

Even if the K-30 doesn't fully support UHS 1, any card that does support UHS-1 will be certain to be pretty fast, and faster than the Sandisk Ultras.

Many Pentaxians recommend a class 10 card. Generally the Sandisk are well regarded.

Personally I use several Sandisk Extreme Pro up to 95MB/s and I recommend them very strongly. You pay a bit more than other brands, but you know that you will have no worry and will not loose.

I add that I use Hi continuous shooting all the time with my K-3 and K-7. All the time.

Hope that the comment will help.

On the recommendation of several forum members, I got a pair of these for my K-3:

SanDisk 32GB Extreme Plus UHS-I SDHC Memory Card SDSDXS-032G-A46

They work great... no problems.

Cheers... M

I've been using Transcend 600x UHS-1 cards in my K-3 and have yet to fill the buffer in real world shooting. Even if the camera doesn't fully use the write speed of the card, the read speed might give you faster downloads to your computer. Just my $0.02.

This card or faster should deliver optimal performance with the K-30:

SanDisk 16GB Extreme UHS-I Speed Class 3 SDHC SDSDXN-016G-G46

The only Pentax DSLR that can currently benefit from even faster cards (like the extreme pro series) would be the K-3.

I think that the manufacturer does not play a role here here the most important - is the speed of the card, depending on the type you are using a either 10 class, or the speed of 90 Mb / sec
I have SanDisk, transcened they work without problems

definitely class 10 but even the sandisk ultras which are class 10 sometimes have me waiting if i shoot in RAW+ and burst mode.basically anything above 60mb/s should be fine

You can of course get one of the super high-performance cards like the once mentioned above that write close to 100 Mb/s, but I personally consider that a waste of money for everyone who isn't into really serious sports photography and has very high demands.

I recently got myself a SanDisk Extreme 16GB SDHC UHS-1 which reads and writes at 45 Mb/s and currently retails at around $15 at Amazon. The one Adam mentioned might be even better (faster and not much more expensive). It naturally depends how you shoot in burst mode (RAW, JPEG or both?).

Theoretically, any class 10 card should give you the optimum performance for burst shooting. My favorite card is actually a Samsung SDHC Plus card, as it's much faster than similarly priced competitors (they underrate their cards massively).

Thank you for all replies. I ordered a sandisk UHS-I-Class-10 from here ( Sandisk Extreme PRO 32GB 32G SD SDHC Memory Card 95MB S UHS I Class 10 HD Video | eBay ), but received a UHS-3 (see picture imgur: the simple image sharer). What is the difference?

Not much, in practical terms.

Looks like Sandisk have just updated the 32GB Extreme Pro 95 MB/s from U1 to U3. The eBay store of the SanDisk distributor in Australia shows the same card as the one in your picture, so it seems legit.
