Nikon SB 400 flash on K3II ??

Hi is there any way to hack the SB400 so it works on the K3II, or can I find a schematic of the Pentax flash contacts somewhere
this flash is so handy & with bounce--would be nice if it can be used

I don't think you can use the TTL in any way, but I used my old SB600 as a manual mode flash for a while when I switched from Nikon to Pentax. I forget if I ever tried the 400 with it, but since you can't control it, it would probably fire at 100% every time.

Tape up every thing but the center pin. Or sell it and use the money to get a decent manual flash that doesn't require tape and has considerably more power.

OK i try that..
I have a bigger flash, but this is a handy size for fill, since K3II is flashless

FWIW, Pentax has a fairly comparable small flash:

but it doesn't have the handy tilt to bounce off the ceiling that the nikon model has.

I have the SB400 for use with my Nikons -- AFAIK, unlike other flashes, it may not use the center pin to fire -- this flash is controlled in some proprietary Nikon way and won't work on other bodies. Verified with my K-3. Works fine on all my Nikons though...

YMMV

Ah - I never tried taping the SB400 up, I sold it quite soon after I switched to Pentax. The SB600s I'd even used taped on my Nikon D70s to get ridiculously fast flash synch times (I still don't understand why the older pre-CMOS Pentax bodies can't do the same thing)

my next travel flash (to be used in manual mode only for my Pentax): MEIKE MK-320 I-TTL HSS Master FLash Speedlite for Nikon j1 J2 J3 D750 D550 D810 D610 D7100 D7200 D5300 D5100 D5200 D5000 D3300 D3200 D3100 | MeiKe Store

FYI, I have their previous version and it works like a charm on my K-3.
