Does an alternative exist to the D-AC50?

I'd like to do some multi-day time lapse shots, but am not so keen about paying about $60 for the K10D's AC charger. Are there any knock-off alternatives like the Yongnuo remotes?

Probably is one that could be made to work - I would be a little worried though. Saw a Minolta Dimage 5mp (big 200 mm lens one - near pro quality at the time) act up with an ac adapter that was set to the correct polarity and voltage. Luckily it went back to normal after wards.

If you use K10D with grip and two batts how long can it shoot? Would seem like a long time. Have to go into the custom function menu to stop camera from timing out. Could probably hook a bigger battery up thru the grip - if needed. Good luck.

thanks
