I didn't realize the original slide before the current one was shorter. Probably a really good idea.

One of the elves that I bribe to let me in on these things just told me that I'll be getting both the Slide Lite and the Leash for Christmas. So, maybe I'll do a little comparison with them all in the New Year. In the meantime, I have to lay low and pretend I don't know.

Kath,

As my slide lite will be here soon enough as well, it will be interesting to see your impressions compared to mine. Now I just need to get a K3II and my K30 will be comparable to your K50.

I recently went out with the Sig 150-500 handheld and jury-rigged a regular pentax neck strap (all I had on me) to the metal crosspost of the tripod ring via the little keyring from the Cotton Carrier. I hung it around my neck when I needed a rest from holding by the gripstrap. It convinced me I could easily enjoy that setup with a proper sling while taking handheld bird shots.
Kath,

Take a look at my solution for relieving the stress of carrying a Sigma 150-500 on a neck strap. I posted this in July after testing it out. It works a treat for me.

@AggieDad, what a fabulous idea, Don! I don't wear a belt, but my daypack has a nice hipbelt. You could put that leather tool holder right on there. I've been using the Cotton Carrier holster, same idea, just more hoopla. Isn't it amazing how great that Sigma is to handhold... if only you can rest the arms between shots. Thanks!
