Aftermarket battery grip

Anybody tried one?
I can buy the original but I'm always looking for a good deal.

I have one for the k5ii and it works great. It isn't weather sealed AT ALL, though. It has the two wheels, two buttons, shutter and power switch. It even came with two batteries that have actually held up to use over the past 6 months! If I had the vendor info, I'd add it, but I don't...

Weather sealing might be a deal breaker, still might be worth trying.

I have not had good experiences with Vello products. I bought one for a Nikon D7000 and it failed soon after the warranty expired. No physical damage, no battery acid leakage, it just stopped working. I've never had that problem on the subsequent Nikon grips.

Yeah guess I'll have to stump up.
Just hate how the prices over this side are massively fixed.

Several folks here have been selling their OEM grips lately, likely due to camera deal add-ons they didn't need. I picked one up recently for a decent price, essentially like new.

I purchased one for my K5ii and am glad it only cost $20. Everything worked but did not have the Pentax feel, the thumb wheel rubbed a blister on my thumb the first time I used it, all the buttons were hard to press and made noise, the black color did not match the k5ii. I have a Pentax grip on the way from B&H.

Just received my Pentax battery grip from B&H, wow what a difference! fit, finish and functionality well worth the money. I forgot to mention in pervious post, the clone grip, with the mounting screw as tight as possible, did not feel secure it would actually move around. The Pentax grip actually feels like part of the camera, no movement.
