I know "the best" is subjective, but I was just curious if anyone knows of any super hard core SD cards if they exist? Like made out of titanium or something.

I have a bunch of the transcend 32 and 64 GB Sd cards in varying speeds and have never had one fail, but they do seem kinda flimsy and cheap. May just be the nature of the things though.

Sounds like a question for one of those geek dudes at BestBuy... but, I don't live near a Best Buy.

Mind you whenever I ask the geeks a question, they usually tell me what I already know and don't know the answer to what I asked.

But "best" to me means fast and reliable not really 'tough'. The card is in the camera and well protected. If you need 'tough' check the link but no idea if it is "best".

IMHO, in consideration of the "best" SD, I view it in 3 areas, namely, 1) read/write speed, 2) reliability and durability, 3) warranty and support. I find that most name brands such as Sandisk, Lexar, Transcend, PNY etc. are good candidates for both 2) and 3). So, I usually go with the best speed/price performance card (not the absolute fastest card currently available) such as the ones around 85MB/sec read/write speed and currently 64GB is probably the best capacity option now price wise.

I have recently bought a Silicon Power SD and found them to be quite good.

Transcends got fast 64 gb cards for $25. That's not bad. I'm getting 85mbs read times on my usb 3 reader.

I have had problems with every brand I have bought. I have taken the approach of buy them cheap and buy a lot of them to carry with me. I just bought 5 cards from Amazon for $4 a piece (they happen to be Kingston 8Gb cards).

^this. I use Sandisk cards in all my cameras, and have never had a hint of trouble. Though buy them from a reputable dealer, when something has a good name there are always people who will use that name fraudulently, in order to cash in on it with an inferior product.

I have these as well. Complaining about these cards would be perfectly dishonest. They seem to be extremely good.

I've tested a number of different brands but nothing beats SanDisk. Now I only use SanDisk cards, preferably Extreme and Extreme Pro

The SanDisk higher-end cards are supposed to be freeze-proof, shock-proof, etc. I've never had any trouble with them. They are often counterfeited though, so I will only buy them certain places. (Not Amazon.) Western Digital just recently bought SanDisk, btw. Hopefully that won't be a negative...

I use some Sandisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s and Lexar Professionnal 633x on my K3 and I am quite happy whith them.

I've been happy with SanDisk and Lexar. Only had one issue with a SanDisk. Not bad considering I have shot thousands of digital photographs over the past 10 years. Mostly I have SanDisk with a couple of Lexar.....used with three Pentax, one Canon and one Panasonic bodies.
